Are there specific ways certain prints need to be framed? 

Surprisingly, there can be 5 or more different ways that you can custom frame the same print.  However, there isn’t a “right” or “wrong” way to choose colors or styles. We will always help you decide from our hundreds of options.

Can a metal or wood frame be too large or too small for a piece of art?

Frame size is determined as much by the subject and style of a piece of art as it is by the size of the art. Coloration and finish of a frame can be more powerful visually than size. As you look through a selection of samples you will begin to see when a certain size begins to feel comfortable.

Do I have to make an appointment?
No, an Art & Frame Warehouse master designer will always be ready to help you during our regular business hours.  However if you are unable to drop by during that time, we can set up an appointment.

What determines the total cost of the project?
There are a number of factors that combined determine the price of framing projects. The most important factors are listed below:

Moulding Selection
Complexity of details. (matting, use of fillets, fabric wrap matting, etc)
Standard glass or acrylics glazing vs. UV radiation protective glass or acrylics
Quantity ordered at one time – same size, same specifications
Conservation / museum framing

How long will my custom framing take?
Art & Frame Warehouse as a standard one week turn around, but we will always try to meet your needs. We offer rush service and even one day service(extra fees may apply).  However some frames and special projects may take up to two weeks.  It is our goal to return the framed piece to you as soon as possible for you to enjoy!  For online orders, please refer to the

When is preservation needed?
Each situation is different, Art & Frame Warehouse designer will listen to your specific needs for preservation quality materials that will keep your artwork vibrant and safe for years to come from UV protective glass to museum quality mats.

Are there different mats cuts other than rectangular/square?
Our framers can cut single, double, triple, oval, and special designed mats.  Your next project is limited only by your imagination

What are shadow boxes ?
Shadowboxes provide the perfect setting for wedding mementos, imprints of newborn hands/feet, baptismal gowns, pressed flowers, sports memorabilia, or unique collectables.  We understand the importance of preserving, projecting, and presenting your special items.  We will take extra care of your priceless treasures while they are with us.

Can you frame textile?
Yes, Art & Frame Warehouse can expertly frame and preserve your needlepoint, embroidery, textile art and memorabilia.

What should I custom frame?
EVERYTHING!  All kidding aside, anything you want to preserve and display for people to enjoy.  Framing is an art. Though internet framing sites can be helpful in your initial planning process, a one on one consultation with an Art & Frame master framer will provide you with the design advice you need. Let us assist you in selecting a mat and frame that will complement your artwork. Art & Frame provides the best selection, service, and price. Ordering FAQ:

1.  Your website is great, how do I place an order?
We worked to make your shopping easy and secure.  Just click on the 'add to cart' button under the product or framed image.  When you are ready to complete and purchase your order, click 'checkout' in the cart screen and follow the instructions on completing your order and payment.  Please contact us
 with any questions and we will be happy to assist you.

2.  If I have a problem or maybe I duplicated the order, what should I do?
If you are having issues placing an order, or feel that you might have duplicated your order, please contact our customer service or contact us
 as soon as possible and we will make sure to correct any issues right away.

3.  What about cancellation after an order has been submitted?
If you decide to cancel your order, please contact our customer service or contact us
 right away and have your order number available.  Custom framed prints that have already been shipped, only store credit will be issued once we receive the returned item.  You are responsible for shipping and packaging on all returned items that are not damaged.   For items such as unframed art and custom framed items that are still in our frameshop, you can cancel the order for a full refund provided we have not shipped the item.  We understand that sometimes cancellations happen and we will work with you to make the process as easy as possible. 

4.  What payment options are accepted by Art & Frame Warehouse?
We accept all major credit cards (Visa, Master Card, American Express, and Discover) for your convenience.  We do not offer Paypal payment plans at this time.

5.  How safe is ordering online?
Nothing is 100% when ordering online.  However with Art & Frame Warehouse, we strive to make sure that all your online activities with us is secure and safe.  We use the latest security technology including to process our online transactions.  For more information, please refer to our

6.  Do you offer corporate or whole discounts?
Yes!  We offer great discounts to qualified corporate and wholesale customers.  Please check out our 
corporate services page for our hands on services from site planning all the way to installation.  We are your one stop source for all of your art and frame needs!

7.  Can I order if I am an international customer?
Unfortunately, we are not currently set up for international orders.  However, we will be happy to ship loose prints or canvas to any recognized international address provided that the order has been placed in the United States. 

8.  Can I order a shadowbox online? 
Due to the delicate nature of shadowbox framing, we are not offering shadowbox orders at this time.    However, once our brillant staff figure out the best way, we will let you know!

Shipping FAQ:

1.  How will my art or print be shipped?
All products will be carefully packaged to prevent damage during shipping.  Loose prints or canvas will be rolled and shipped in a heavy duty cardboard tube.  Smaller items may be shipped flat in sturdy packaging.  Framed items are securely packed in a reinforced cardboard box with appropriate packing materials to prevent damage.   Art & Frame Warehouse utilizes both USPS and UPS to provide the best service and the best prices for our customers.

2.  Can I pick up the item if I am local?   What about delivery?
If you live near one of store locations in the Kansas City area, you may pick up your order at your convenience.  Please specify which location you would like us to have it ready upon checkout and we will email you when the order is ready for pick up.  We also provide delivery service if you are local and would like to have your item delivered for a small fee.  Please contact us
 for cost and to set up delivery.      

3.  How do I know when my order has been placed and shipped?
Communication with our customers is very important to us.  It also gives you peace of mind that we are working very hard to provide the highest levels of customer service and craftsmenship in each order that we ship.  Once an order is placed, you will receive an confirmation email with order details and approximate leadtime.   When the order ships, you will receive another email with tracking information if applicable.  If you are framing an item, you will receive an email that the print is in our frameshop. Then a followup email with the shipping notification once the framed print is completed and passed our inspection.

4.  When will I receive my order?
The processing time for your order depends on the type of items that you purchased and where you live.  However, if an item or moulding is temporarily out of stock, then the leadtime will be delayed.  We will send you an email or contact you if an item is out of stock.  Please note that delivery times apply to weekdays only (Monday - Friday). Delivery estimates do not include weekends or special holidays.

  • Standard posters and prints: Usual lead time is approx. one week to 1 1/2 weeks with ground shipping.  
  • Print on Demand items:  Usual lead time is approx two weeks with ground shipping. 
  • Limited edtion and giclees:  Usual leadtime depending on the publishing company and artist, it might take upto 2-3 weeks with ground shipping.
  • Framed Items:  Usual lead time is 2 - 3 weeks.  Process includes print shipping time as well as the production of the frames at our 'frameshop'.

5.  What if i received a damaged item?  Is my package insured?
Art & Frame Warehouse guarantees your satisfaction.  If the item you received is damaged or you are not completely satisfied with the quality, please contact our customer service or contact us

6.  What happens if not all of my order will be ready at the same time?
Unless otherwise specified, we will hold the items and ship when your entire order is complete to save you money and time tracking multiple orders.  However, if you would prefer to not wait on the completed items, please contact our customer service or contact us
 to request separate shipping.  Please note standard shipping rates will apply for each item shipped.

Due to the weight and extra care to ship mirrors, they are handled on a case by case basis.  Please contact us
 if you want to ship a framed mirror before placing your order.  You can also select the pickup at any of our 4 convenient locations or use our local delivery service. 

9.  Do you ship internationally?
We are not shipping any items internationally at this time.
